🌟 Meet Tani Segal-Pillemer: Biluim Israel Director 🇮🇱 🌟 🌟 Hi, I’m Tani Segal-Pillemer, Director of Biluim Israel 🇮🇱 It’s an honor to lead such an incredible group of Chanichim (participants) and Madrichim (leaders) this year. With a background in education and experience teaching in the York Region District School Board, I’m passionate about fostering growth, inclusivity, and creating a sense of belonging for everyone. My journey with CYJ began as a camper on Biluim Israel, and over the years, my love for the movement and Israel has only deepened. From lifeguard and Goshrim staff at Kadimah to my roles as Madrich, Assistant Director, Associate Director, and now Director, my goal is to create a community where campers can explore their identities, build confidence, think critically and connect with Israel in meaningful ways. While Biluim Israel is often seen as the final step in a camper’s journey, I see it as a new beginning. It’s about gaining leadership skills, discovering new aspects of yourself, learning from and enjoying Israel’s rich diversity and building relationships that extend far beyond the trip itself. I am excited to lead this incredible group as we experience the magic of Israel together! 🇮🇱✡️ Let’s make this summer unforgettable! 💙

Earlier this week, our community gathered to listen to, and engage with, Nohad Mansour. Nohad, a Druze IDF Soldier, spoke about his community's commitment to the safety of the State of Israel, his motivation as a paratrooper, and his unique experience on October 7th, and serving in Gaza in the aftermath. Thank you to all of those who attended this meaningful evening, and for your engagement and questions. Today we commemorate the tragic events of October 7th 2023, the horrific massacre in Southern Israel perpetrated by Hamas. It has been 365 days, but in many ways it feels like we are still living this terrible day. 365 days of mourning our dead, 365 days of praying for safety of the soldiers and civilians in Israel, and 365 days of yearning and demanding the return of over 100 hostages still being held in Gaza. May this year bring peace, and the safe return of our hostages. May we continue to stand strong in the face of rising antisemitism and anti-Israel rhetoric, and lean on our community for support.
